Anti-plagiarism Policy

The Rev.Mex.Biodiversidad (RMB) subjects submitted contributions to a similarity check using the iThenticate tool, at the discretion of the Editor-in-Chief (during the initial review) or the Associate Editor (prior to formal peer review). In the event that irregular similarities are detected, the manuscript in question will be rejected immediately, with no possibility of reconsideration.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

In the cover letter that must accompany the original submission, authors must declare whether they have used generative AI or any AI tools in the preparation of their manuscript. If applicable, they must state which tool or type of tool was used and for what purpose.

 Authors and co-authors

The authors listed on the original manuscript submission, their order of appearance, and the corresponding author must remain unchanged throughout the entire editorial process. Exceptions will only be made in very specific situations prior to the final editing stage (proofreading), upon request to the Associate Editor and with the express authorization of the Editor-in-Chief.  Collection Material

The collection permit number for the specimens must be indicated when applicable.

 Material in Biological Collections

In the case of new species, the holotype or paratypes of the new taxa must be deposited in a recognized institutional biological collection.

For specimens deposited in museums, accession numbers are required for both the type material and the examined specimens (vouchers). Accession numbers must also be included for frozen tissues deposited in museums, as well as for DNA sequences deposited in databases.

For photo-collection records, an accession number from a recognized institutional collection where this material is deposited must be included.

Licenses and Copyright

RMB (Revista Mexicana de Biodiversidad) recognizes and respects the moral rights of authors and retains publication rights, without restrictions, in Open Access through any medium including print, electronic, or digital. The author(s) reserve the right to reuse the contents of their work in future works, including presentations, journal publications, or books, provided that the article published in the Revista Mexicana de Biodiversidad is cited.

Published articles are governed by a CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/; Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives) under the following terms:

Attribution — Appropriate credit must be given to the original author and the original source must be provided, along with a link to the license.

Non commercial — The published material may not be used for commercial purposes.

No derivatives — If you remix, transform, or build upon the material, you may not distribute the modified material.
