Abstract

Diphysa yucatanensis is described and illustrated as a new species. It is distributed in Chiapas, Tabasco and the Yucatán Peninsula (Campeche, Quintana Roo, Yucatán, Belize and El Petén, Guatemala) and it has been historically mistaken for D. carthagenensis Jacq., a species only recently found in the most arid zone of the Peninsula.
