Abstract

In the present taxonomic study of the genus Phidon, P. bullocki, P. araucanus, and P. reticularis are redescribed.
The male and female genitalia are described for the first time. The most important diagnostic characters of the male genitalia are the sclerites L2D´, L4V´, and v.c.c., and the sclerite sp.pl. of the female genitalia. Phidon bullocki andP. reticularis are similar, with females  difficult to differentiate also from the female of P. dubius. Phidon chanco is clearly different from the rest of the species. The geographic distribution of all the species of the genus is reported.
