Abstract

TWO SPECIES OF LONEURA, ONE FROM NICARAGUA AND THE OTHER FROM VENEZUELA, ARE DESCRIBED AND ILLUSTRATED. THEY CONSTITUTE A PAIR OF SISTER SPECIES, BASED ON CHARACTERS OF THE COMPOUND EYES, FOREWING PTEROSTIGMA AND PATTERN OF PIGMENTATION, AND STRUCTURE OF MALE PHALLOSOME AND HYPANDRIUM. ALSO, THEY CONSTITUTE A UNIQUE SPECIES GROUP IN LONEURA. LONEURA.
