Abstract

We presented the first report of an introduced population of wild pigs in southeastern Mexico, specifically inSouthwestern Laguna de Términos, Campeche. Using camera traps, we obtained 14 photographic records of wild pigsin 3 different sites during 2012 and 2013. The records included males, females and females with piglets. It is necessaryto determine the effects on the local biodiversity of the presence of a wild pig population in order to determine theactions to manage this species on the region.
