Abstract

The geographic distribution of Ophiambix devaneyi Paterson, 1985 is extended to a new locality withinthe Gulf of Mexico. This species is an extremely rare ophiuroid, not only because of its morphology, which makesit unique, but also because there are only 2 other specimens that have been collected around the world. New habitatinformation of the species is provided.
