About the Journal
Scope and Focus
Since 2019 (volume 90), the Revista Mexicana de Biodiversidad has adopted a continuous publication model, with articles presented within a single annual volume. It publishes national and international papers reporting original scientific research, in Spanish or English, on the biodiversity of the American continent (systematics, biogeography, ecology, and evolution), and on its conservation, management, and use.
RMB is a non-commercial Open Access publication, with content of interest to specialists —students, faculty, and researchers from educational institutions, technological institutes, and research centers— across the different related fields.
There are no fees for submitting manuscripts, editorial processing, publication, or for consultations.
RMB is currently indexed in WoS, Scopus, DOAJ, Latindex, SciELO, RedALyC, among others.
Peer-review process
The review system is single-blind: anonymous peer review, which ensures high international quality standards and fosters trust among readers and prospective authors.
All submissions (all section categories) will be peer-reviewed.
Reviewers. Authors may suggest at least two reviewers for their manuscript by providing each candidate’s full name, institutional affiliation, and email address. Final selection of reviewers is at the discretion of the Associate Editor.
The final editorial decision is final. Rejected manuscripts may be reconsidered only by explicit invitation from the editor-in-chief.
Open Access, non-commercial policy
This journal guarantees open, free, immediate, and unrestricted access to all its content, based on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports greater global knowledge exchange.
The Revista Mexicana de Biodiversidad does not charge authors at any stage of the editorial process, including submission, review, editing, or publication, nor does it charge readers for access, consultation, or downloading of content, nor for copying, distributing, printing, or linking to the full texts of the journal’s articles without prior permission of the editor or author; nor for tracking them for indexing, transferring them as data to software, or using them for any other lawful purpose.
