Comparación de los rasgos morfológicos y la condición corporal del mirlo café (Turdus grayi) en dos localidades con diferente grado de urbanización del municipio de Centro, Tabasco

Los ambientes urbanos pueden ejercer presiones selectivas sobre la morfología de los organismos, generando respuestas variables entre especies. En aves, la urbanización puede provocar cambios en el tamaño corporal y en rasgos asociados al uso del hábitat. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar si la morfología y la condición corporal del mirlo café (Turdus grayi) difieren entre 2 hábitats con distinto grado de urbanización en el municipio de Centro, Tabasco. Para ello, se registraron la longitud de ala, tarso y pico, así como la masa corporal, de 48 individuos capturados con redes de niebla entre mayo de 2023 y febrero de 2024. Los resultados mostraron que los individuos del sitio más urbanizado presentaron menores valores promedio de longitud de ala, tarso, pico y condición corporal en comparación con los registrados en el sitio menos urbanizado. Asimismo, los análisis estadísticos indicaron que el sitio y la edad influyeron significativamente sobre las variables morfológicas evaluadas. Estos resultados sugieren que las condiciones asociadas al grado de urbanización pueden influir en la variación morfológica y en la condición corporal de las poblaciones de T. grayi. Este estudio aporta evidencia sobre los efectos potenciales de la urbanización en aves residentes.
