Resumen

Gastrointestinal and external parasites from 12 Green-backed Firecrown (Sephanoides sephaniodes Molina 1782) were collected between January 2004 to December 2008 from the Biobío Region of south-central Chile and Santiago of central Chile. Helminths collected included one trematode, Mosesia sp. and one cestode, Hymenolepis trinidadensis. Only one ectoparasite was found, the mite Proctophyllodes huitzilopchtlii. All these parasites are new records from Chile and the first parasites reported from this host.
