Dieta de la rana de invernadero Eleutherodactylus planirostris (Amphibia: Eleutherodactylidae) en la península de Yucatán, México

Resumen

Se analizaron los contenidos estomacales de 209 individuos de la rana de invernadero Eleutherodactylus planirostris provenientes de 3 sitios de la península de Yucatán, México, donde ésta es una especie invasora. La dieta estuvo dominada numéricamente por Oribatida y Formicidae, y esta última junto con Isopoda, tuvieron la mayor importancia relativa. Schizomida se reporta por primera vez como parte de la dieta de esta rana. Se encontró un cambio ontogénico en la composición de la dieta, las presas pequeñas (ácaros y colémbolos) fueron más consumidas por los jóvenes, mientras que las presas más grandes (hormigas), fueron más consumidas por los adultos. La dieta no varió entre sexos. Se encontró un nivel de especialización individual en la dieta, mayor al esperado por azar en los 3 sitios. La presencia de esta especie en la península de Yucatán es preocupante debido al alto número de presas consumidas por individuo y a su amplia distribución en la región. Por lo tanto, este trabajo provee una base para futuros estudios enfocados en los impactos de la especie en los sitios invadidos en esta región.
